One beautiful Brooklyn day in May, Nora Shepley was born. When she was five her family, which included 3 brothers and 1 sister, moved to Yonkers. And it was in there in New York City that she found her artistic ability at the tender age of eight years old - doing water color painting. Her parents were so impressed with her paintings they decided to enroll her in art classes. When Nora became twenty four she moved to Northern New York State seeking to paint the beauty of nature that she found there. So taken was she, that she purchased a house with one hundred and fifty acres where she had the perfect atmosphere in which to devote full time to her love of painting. Nora -- and your art deco series s great too -- this and "Cathy" in particular!! And I was tempted to say your deco series strikes me as a bit more Art Nouveaux ( reminiscent of Aubrey Beardsley) but sitting on my couch is a book of Erte's work and frankly your style is quite close to his, making it certainly deco, because there no more Deco an artist than Erte, but to me it's bridging the space between Deco (which I am totally crazy about by the way) and Art Nouveaux. Congrats! They are great!
